Remodeling- a new design to last decades. We began this process to update and bring to life a space that was our own design. We reworked the area. As the space has been destroyed and reconfigured so many mixed emotions have surfaced. The heart of our home, memories and space we once knew would never be the same. We began the demolition on Feb 9 just as this class was beginning. My brother, grandmother, uncle and cousins son have passed away in the space of 6 weeks. There has been so many ups and downs and in the end we hope this space will be as beautiful as we have imagined. The design, heart, and dedication of building a space is a form of creation. My four children have missed their home. The emotional and physical toll it takes on a family is more than I imagined. But as the home has grown we too have grown together through the trials and circumstances. I knew that the home has so much emotion and energy.
